One of the biggest misconceptions about the ebook publishing business is the false belief that you have to be a good writer. There are so many examples of people who own a real home business selling pdf ebooks who cannot write well. The reason why they are successful is because they have discovered ways to leverage themselves without writing.
The biggest initial challenge to starting an ebook publishing business is identifying the source for the pdf ebooks you are going to sell. If you can write, this isnt a problem because you can always write your own ebooks. However, if you cannot write, you need another way to get inventory without doing the writing yourself.
One way that you can acquire ebooks for your inventory is sell ebooks from other peoples inventory. This can be done if they offer an affiliate program. An affiliate program allows you as a business owner to earn money marketing other peoples pdf ebooks. You are provided a special web site that you market. When someone buys from your link you get paid.
The second strategy is to purchase or acquire what is known as resell rights or master resell rights. Resell rights is when someone else creates a product and then offers the right to sell the product to someone else. Master resell rights is when they not only offer the right to sell the product, but they also offer the right to sell the rights to sell as well.
When you purchase or acquire resell rights or master resell rights you now have the ability to sell the pdf ebooks for whatever price you want. You dont even have to know how to create an ebook. All you need to do is purchase or acquire these rights and you now have your very own inventory of products for your ebook publishing business.
You can also leverage what are referred to as PLR or private label right ebooks. PLR ebooks give you the ability to change the content of the product however you see fit. You can also acquire PLR videos or audios and have them converted to ebooks by transcribing them yourself or hiring a transcriber. By leveraging PLR pdf ebooks you have the flexibility to have an even more comprehensive inventory.
The fourth strategy is to create what is known as an interview pdf ebook. This is when you interview an expert in a particular topic or area of interest. You then have the interview transcribed and offer it as an ebook. With an interview, your expert is offering all of the content so you dont have to know how to write ebooks to create one.
Yet another approach to creating ebooks is to take advantage of freelance services. A freelancer can actually write the ebook for you. They do all of the work and you get to put your name on the ebook as if you were the one that actually wrote it. This is the ultimate form of leverage and you would be amazed at how many best selling books that are written using this method.
These are five different strategies that you can apply to your business to acquire inventory for your ebook publishing business. By utilizing one or a combination of these strategies you can acquire as many ebooks as you want to sell without having to be a great writer yourself.
