The Secrets to Managing Time When Running Home-Based Business Opportunities

As the owner of home-based business opportunities it seems like there is never enough time to get everything done. The reason why is because many of us waste a lot of time. Here are some sure fire ways to help you save time.

1. Write down everything you need to do
The night before you start working, write down each task that you have to complete the following day. Do not bother to list tasks you can delegate to someone else. Have your list nearby so you can refer to it throughout the day. You do not have to do everything as anything that you did not get done you can do the next day.

The list helps you in that it reminds you what you need to do during the day. Put the most important tasks first and work from there. If you do that and you have a lot of unexpected things that occur, you will at least have handled the most important items you needed to do.

2. Checking email can waste a lot of your time
Poor email management is one of the biggest contributors to wasting time in promoting home based business opportunities. You should never check email throughout the day if it can be avoided. Schedule a specific time during the day to check your email and make sure it comes after some of the other higher impact activities throughout your day.

Sometimes people think that if you only read and not reply to email it does not hurt your business. The problem with that is you still waste time even if you are not replying to emails because of you start to think about how you are going to handle the email

3. Surfing the internet without purpose is a business killer
Wasting time surfing on the internet is very easy when you run home-based business opportunities. You may not notice how much time you spend on surfing activity that is not productive. Obviously, the internet has some use in building your business. That being said, you need to make sure you restrict non-productive use. Productive internet use is anything that generates revenue for your business, like internet marketing and advertising related activities.

4. Be Wary of Phone Time
You would be amazed at how much time the phone can take out of your day. Constantly answering the phone not only takes actual time away, but also takes mindshare away as well by diverting you from the task at hand. You should have your voice mail or assistant answer calls for you while working. This way you do not have to worry about taking a call that is not productive to the tasks you are trying to complete at this time. Doing this will help you get more done throughout the day.

Take some time to evaluate how you spend your day. Look at the time you spend on email, on the phone and surfing the internet. Apply some of these suggestions so you can improve your time management ability.
